Confirmed. BMW will take part in the 2009 World Superbikes Championship.

Peter Müller, vice-president of Motorrad development said the following statements at the Paris Saloon:

“ In the 2007, BMW had back to the world of the speed competition of the sportive Boxer after more than 50 years. In the 2008 we will continue with our activities in the “resistance” category and at the same time we are preparing intensely our entrance in the 2009 Superbike World Championship”.

German Alex Hofmann will be probably the BMW official pilot for motoGP.
