With only 168 kg is 20 kg lighter than its predecessor and weight 5 kilograms less than its sister, the 1098.
The Ducati 848 motor has been object of substantial improvements. They reduced considerably their weight saving more than 3 kg and ther sophisticated clutch enables a cut of almost 1 kilogram. The potency that the Testastretta Evoluzione reaches confirms that the rules have changed. Now the Ducati 848 is not only 30% more powerful than its predecessor thanks to the 134 CV, but the ratio weigh/potency places it over the powerful 999.
